Education system of Kazakhstan should focus on critical thinking - Minister

Bishkek (AKIpress) - expert Minister of Education and Science of Kazakhstan Aslan Sarinzhipov proposed to introduce new approaches in education system of Kazakhstan at the conference on critical thinking, Kazakh media report.

Mr Sarinzhipov expressed need for education system of Kazakhstan to focusing on critical and creative thinking skills. He told about the trends that are typical for Kazakh education system and proposed new approaches.

Sarinzhipov announced the results of Kazakhstan's participation in an international study PISA: the results are proportional to economic indicators of the country as a whole.

Kazakhstan took 49th place in the math, 52nd place in the natural sciences and 60th place in the reading, www.strategy2050.kz cites the Minister.
