Over 170 passengers injured as two trains collide in Seoul subway

AKIPRESS.COM - Over 170 passengers were injured as two trains collided on one of Seoul's major subway lines on Friday afternoon, the media report Friday.

The accident took place when one train, which had stopped between stations due to a mechanical problem, was hit from the rear by an incoming train, at Sangwangsimni Station on Subway Line No. 2 at around 3:30 p.m., the Chosun reported.

No fatalities were immediately reported. According to Seoul Metro, many injuries were caused by passengers jumping onto the subway tracks. The injured were taken to nearby hospitals.
