AKIPRESS.COM - Honda Motor Co. is recalling more than 31,000 cars in India to check for a faulty part in the brakes, The Wall Street Journal reported.
A total of 15,623 units of the Brio hatchbacks and 15,603 units of the Amaze compact car manufactured from 28 February 2013 through 16 January 2014 are being recalled, Honda Cars India Ltd. specified.
The auto maker said there was a possibility that the proportioning valves, which help distribute brake pressure to the wheels, may not have been assembled properly.
Indian companies have recalled more than 600,000 vehicles since the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers adopted a voluntary code on vehicle recalls in July 2012. These companies include Maruti Suzuki India Ltd., General Motors Co., Ford Motor Co., Toyota Motor Corp. and Renault S.A.
