Nigeria, North Korea sign agreement on ICT, education

AKIPRESS.COM - Memo Nigeria and North Korea on Tuesday signed a cooperation agreement to promote exchange of knowledge on Information Technology using modern technology between public sectors of both countries, APA News reported.

The joint communique was issued at the end of the 4th Session of the Nigeria-Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) by Nigerian Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Martin Uhomoihbi and Vice Minister of Trade of North Korea Rio Myong San.

The sides also agreed on an education cooperation to promote exchange of visits between university lecturers and educationists from both countries. Thus, university professors and technicians from both countries could carry out joint research projects in each other's higher institutions in the field of science and technology.

The agreement also encourages university professors to carry out joint research programs in agriculture, geology, oil and gas, industrial technology, and others.

Relations between Nigeria and North Korea were established in May 1976.
