Malaysian companies interested to explore investment opportunities in Tajikistan

AKIPRESS.COM - Malaysia Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak noted on June 23 that Malaysian companies engaged in construction, public housing, power generation, mining as well as halal food and products are keen to explore investment opportunities in Tajikistan, Bernama reported.

Najib said the companies would do well in Tajikistan, adding a Malaysian power generation company plans to venture into the power generation business there, marking the beginning of many collaborations to come.

Najib added that Malaysia and Tajikistan are committed to achieving a heightened level of bilateral trade moving forward.

“There is much scope for us to achieve a higher level of collaboration between the two business communities of the two countries,” he said.

Bilateral trade between the two countries reached around $5.5 million in 2013.
