AKIPRESS.COM - Tajik President Emomali Rahmon yesterday met here with the Federal Minister of Water and Power of Pakistan, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, the President’s website reports.
The sides discussed issues related to bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Pakistan in the field of energy.
A special attention was paid to the Central Asia South Asia Electricity Transmission and Trade Project (CASA 1000), which is expected to be completed before 2017.
Similar issues were discussed yesterday at Khawaja Muhammad Asif’s meeting with Tajik Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Aslov.
Tajikistan and Pakistan have reportedly set up a joint commission for energy cooperation and a number of important cooperation agreements are expected to be signed in Dushanbe in September during a visit of Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to Tajikistan.
