AKIPRESS.COM - The U.S. Government will allocate grants for $12.05 million to Uzbekistan to implement projects on strengthening material-technical provision of the law enforcement and customs bodies, UzDaily said.

Within the project, the Ministry of Interior Affairs of Uzbekistan, committee on protection of the state border of the National Security Service of Uzbekistan and the State Customs Committee will receive individual protection means, communication equipment, analytical software Penlink, vehicles, scanning and security examination equipment, etc.

The U.S. will also provide $4 million to Uzbekistan to the project on reconstruction of customs post Alat.

Another $2 million will be allocated to construction of border complex Lyabob.
