AKIPRESS.COM - "Our colleague, photographer Andrei Stenin, is dead. It turned out that he was not captured, but died a month ago," said Director of RIA Novosti Dmitry Kiselev, AFP reported.
An investigation showed that Stenin, 33 years old, died while he was on journalistic assignment in the Donetsk region, when his car came under fire from the Ukrainian army, the Russian Investigative Committee said in a statement.
On August 6, he drove his car in a convoy of refugees which was guarded by six members of the pro-Russian forces. On the road from Snezhnoye to Dmitrovka the Ukrainian army open fire on the convoy, killing the photojournalist.
