AKIPRESS.COM - Lawyers for Dzhokhar Tsarnaev filed a motion asking for a new trial for him, who was sentenced to death for his role in the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings that killed four and injured more than 260.
Tsarnaev was found guilty on 30 counts, six of which carry the death penalty.
The preliminary motion for a new trial is not unexpected, the media in Boston report.
Tsarnaev will be appointed a new team of defense attorneys to handle his case as it moves toward an inevitable appeal, which is likely to take years before being resolved.
