AKIPRESS.COM - Explanatory Dictionary of Turkmen Language and Spelling Dictionary of Turkmen language will be published in Turkmenistan for the first time ever since independence. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister for Science and Education Sapardurdy Toylyev at a regular cabinet meeting.

Explanatory Dictionary of Turkmen Language with about 50,000 words and phrases and Spelling Dictionary of Turkmen language with about 110,000 words have been developed by a group of linguists. New dictionaries are currently under review by a special commission for assessment of relevance and completeness of lexical material.

In this regard, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that these are the first dictionaries prepared in Turkmenistan over the years of independence. The head of state thanked the scholars and experts who participated in the development of the dictionaries. He issued instructions to make presentation of the dictionaries at the Academy of Sciences and print a sufficient number of dictionaries to meet the needs of workers in various fields, teachers, students and schoolchildren.
