U.S. Embassy’s music program shares culture, expertise with Turkmen performers

AKIPRESS.COM - American flag Contemporary American dance and music group Company E held a series of workshops and presentations to share their expertise with counterparts in Turkmenistan in late February. The program culminated in a joint Turkmen-American concert for the public.

Based in Washington D.C., Company E emphasizes international collaborations with the great choreographers, dancers, musicians and singers at work today. Company E engages with groups around the globe, with an emphasis on the next generation of cutting edge choreography, and with U.S. missions abroad to present their work on the international stage. This was the third visit by Company E to Turkmenistan, following programs and performances in Ashgabat in 2013 and 2014, the U.S. Embassy in Ashgabat said.

Led by director Paul Emerson, the American teachers and performers worked directly with the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan, the National Symphony Orchestra, the National Dance Company, the National Choir, and Lyale Vocal group. Company E also gave a presentation for the public at the Embassy’s Information Resource Center.
