AKIPRESS.COM - The Pacific Oceania Davis Cup doubles team bounced back from a 3-0 loss to Iran to defeat Turkmenistan 2-1 this week in Tehran, Iran, in the Davis Cup by BNP Paribas Asia/Oceania Group III, reports Pacific Daily News.
Guam’s Daniel Llarenas led the way with doubles partner Brett Baudinet of the Cook Islands, defeating Isa Mammetguliyev and Yury Roguskiy in two sets, 6-4, 7-6.
Pacific Oceania’s youngest team member, Heve Kelley of Tahiti, picked up a win in a singles match, defeating Roguskiy 6-3, 6-2. Fiji’s William O’Connell represented the team’s only loss, falling 6-3, 6-2 to Mammetguliyev.
Turkmenistan is playing in pool A against Guam, Iran and Hong Kong.
