AKIPRESS.COM - On the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the police of Mongolia, leaders of law enforcement agencies laid wreaths at the Statue of Genghis Khan on July 21.
The police is one of the first state bodies of the Mongolian government established after the People’s Revolution in 1921. Until 1990, the police had been enforcing law, ensuring public security and fighting crimes under jurisdiction of the Ministry of Domestic Affairs and the Ministry of Public Security.
In the margin of 95th anniversary celebrations, a ceremonial meeting was held and a parade walked at the Central Stadium.
The Chairman of the State Great Khural delivered a congratulatory message to the personnel of police on the historic anniversary. He said he is convinced that the police will keep on performing their duty of cherishing law and human rights, combating crimes, ensuring public security and delivering prompt and quality services to the citizens and organizations.
