Bus crash in Kazakhstan kills 6 people, including 2 Russians

AKIPRESS.COM - Six people, including two Russian citizens, have died in a road accident in Kazakhstan when a bus crashed in Kostanay region on the Almaty-Yekaterinburg highway on July 26, deputy head of local police department Kurmet Mazhikenov told TASS.

"Six people died in the accident – two Russians, three Kazakhs and one person whose citizenship was not established," Mazhikenov said adding that forty-three people were injured.

A total of 43 people were traveling in the bus when it crashed.

"They all sustained injuries of varying severity and went to hospital. However, only 30 people were seriously injured," he added noting that among them were 12 Russian citizens, 17 Kazakhstani citizens and one Tajikistani citizen.

"Three people were hospitalized at the central hospital of the settlement of Karabalyk. Eight people, including two Russians and one Tajikistani citizen, were hospitalized at the district hospital of Kostanay," Mazhikenov said.
