U.S. trains Uzbek customs officers for customs clearance process at border

AKIPRESS.COM - U.S. Embassy seminar The American expert trained 25 Uzbek customs officers for accelerated customs clearance process at the border, reports the press service of the U.S. Embassy in Uzbekistan.

The United States Agency for International Development has been establishing relations with Uzbekistan to reduce the time required for customs clearance. USAID in July 2016 invited Irina Swift, an international expert with experience in customs field over 40 years, to seminar on risk management and execution of e-customs declaration.

The system of risk management and the electronic declaration, which was presented to the participants, will help speed up the process of customs clearance at the border and reduce the cost of the Uzbek enterprises and improve their competitiveness on the international market.

Twenty five participants of the seminar also were informed with the best international practices in the customs service, which can be applied in Uzbekistan.

The seminar is a part of the technical assistance, which is provided by USAID to the government of Uzbekistan for provision of transparency of customs administration in Uzbekistan, says the U.S. Embassy.
