EU condemns attack on Chinese Embassy in Bishkek

AKIPRESS.COM - EU-Brussels The European Union condemns attack committed on 30 August on the Embassy of the People's Republic of China and wishes a quick recovery to those injured, EU Delegation to Kyrgyzstan said in a local statement.

The European Union is firmly committed to working with the Kyrgyz authorities to counter the threat of extremism, the EU Delegation said.

The suicide attack occurred in the morning of August 30. A car with explosives rammed into the gates of the Chinese Embassy and then exploded. The suicide attacker died. Security guards and gardeners were injured.

The blast was called a terror attack by the law enforcement agencies of Kyrgyzstan.
