Power lines kill some 4,000 falcons a year in Mongolia

AKIPRESS.COM - power lines kill Around 4,000 falcons are killed in Mongolia annually by power lines, according to News.mn.

Thus, 314 birds have been found dead along the 56-kilometer route selected in April. 191 (61%) of the dead birds were falcons, says the Wild Animal Research and Protection NGO in Mongolia.

Mongolia has a total of 6,000 kilometers of power lines.

62 species of falcons live worldwide, and 9 of them can be found in Mongolia.
