Wife of late Mongolian politician Sanjaasuren Zorig released from prison

AKIPRESS.COM - bulgan_700Banzaragch Bulgan, wife of the prominent Mongolian politician Sanjaasuren Zorig murdered in 1998, was released from prison on 9 September, according to News.mn.

The woman has been awaiting for a trial since November 2015. Bulgan lost much weight and was ill, but now she seems to be stable. According to a source, she could not recall key details and events related to the certain procedures.

Zorig was murdered on October 2, 1998. The incident shocked the country and caused a major political crisis. The only witness of the crime, Bulgan, testified that two assailants entered his apartment, tied her up and attacked her husband when he came back home. The culprits were never caught and the case has been under police investigation since then.
