AKIPRESS.COM - The 25th plenary session of the Trans-Siberian Transportation Coordinating Council opened on 14 September in Ulaanbaatar, said News.mn.
A total of 130 delegations from 26 counties are participating in the meeting, which is being held in Mongolia for the first time since it has been established.
The meeting is organized under the auspices of President Tsakhia Elbegdorj by the Ulaanbaatar Railway, a joint venture of Mongolia and Russia. Its purpose is to increase the company’s regional economic participation and intensify transit transportation.
Ulaanbaatar Railway is the primary route connecting Russia and China, which was established between 1949 and 1956. It also connects the Trans-Siberian network with China. This railway is capable of delivering 24-25 million tons of freight at the moment.
