AKIPRESS.COM - The American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Mongolia in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Commerce and the U.S. Embassy in Mongolia hosted a two-day intellectual property rights seminar entitled, “Technical Assistance Program on Commercial Law: A Look at Intellectual Property Rights in Mongolia”.

The seminar featured insightful presentations by international experts from the U.S. Department of Commerce and the U.S. Department of Justice sharing international practices, in particular the U.S. experience in IP enforcement and informative presentations by the officials from the intellectual property and state registration general authority regarding the enforcement of intellectual property rights in Mongolia as well as a constructive discussion on Mongolia-specific case studies presented by AmCham members Microsoft, Mongol HD TV and Anderson and Anderson LLP.

Over 50 stakeholders representing AmCham members, senior government officials from the State Registration and Intellectual Property Rights Office of Mongolia, the U.S. Department of Commerce, U.S. Department of Justice, U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and the U.S. Embassy in Mongolia participated and identified concrete actions to improve the IP environment in Mongolia.

“We strongly believe that the sound development and implementation of intellectual property rights protection and policies are crucial to our members and to further promote free enterprise in Mongolia,” said Jay Liotta, Chairman of AmCham Mongolia, during his remarks at the IPR Seminar.
