AKIPRESS.COM - Mongolian opera singers Ganbaatar Ariunbaatar and Sambuugiin Batchimeg have been chosen the lead soloists for the Tosca opera at the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow.
The opera will be staged on November 3. Created by Giacomo Puccini, Tosca is the work based on Victorien Sardou's 1887 French-language dramatic play. It is a melodramatic piece set in Rome in June 1800, with the Kingdom of Naples's control of Rome threatened by Napoleon's invasion of Italy. It contains depictions of torture, murder and suicide.
Ariunbaatar will perform the role of Baron Scarpia (chief of police), and Batchimeg – Floria Tosca (a celebrated singer).
