Сompetition “Breaking silence on violence against women and girls” announced in Kyrgyzstan

AKIPRESS.COM - gender-balance_sex The Embassy of Switzerland, Soros Foundation – Kyrgyzstan, Crisis Center Sezim in collaboration with Internews and UN Womrn Country Office are holding competition in the framework of the international campaign “16 days of activism against gender-based violence” with a thematic focus on gender-based violence and harmful practices.

The competition features three categories: TV/radio; print media/internet outlets; and blogs/multimedia (photography, viral videos and audios, posters). The competition is open for any citizen of Kyrgyzstan.

The stories can cover all aspects and types of gender-based violence and should make a contribution to the public’s greater awareness and understanding of the issues related to gender-based violence and harmful practices.

The prize pool of the competition equals to approx. CHF 5’000 (KGS 345’000). All prizes will be awarded at a ceremony to be held on December 8, 2016 in Bishkek.

All articles/stories should be in Russian, Kyrgyz or English languages and published/broadcast between January 1, 2016 and December 1, 2016.

The deadline is December 2, 2016.
