AKIPRESS.COM - Two Russian prankers known as Vovan and Lexus admitted that they had falsified the telephone conversation with President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, on behalf of President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev.
One of the prankers uploaded a 15-minute video on his YouTube Channel, claiming it was a record of the telephone conversation with Poroshenko.
The conversation was held in Russian.
Press Secretary of the Ukrainian President Svyatoslav Tsegolko confirmed Poroshenko held the conversation with the prankers, who called him under the guise of the President of Kyrgyzstan, according to his page on Facebook.
“They cowardly rigged up the conversation, muting anything that could harm the Russian authorities. By the way, the fact of censorship of the conversation shows that not prankers are behind this incident but the Russian special forces, who are making a hybrid war against Ukraine,” said Tsegolko, adding that the conversation investigation revealed that officials at Kyrgyzstan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs assisted with the prank.
Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry has not commented on the allegations.
Earlier, the President's Office of Ukraine reported that the telephone conversation between the two Presidents was held on November 2. The sides allegedly discussed issues of bilateral cooperation and interaction within international agenda, the official website said.
Bishkek, however, refuted the message: Atambayev did not talk with Poroshenko on that day. Head of the Foreign Policy Department under the President's Office Sapar Isakov suggested that the Ukrainian leader had been pranked.
The press service of the Ukrainian President acknowledged on the next day: there was no any conversation.
“The sides discussed the situation over the false telephone conversation allegedly held between President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev and President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko. They have agreed to continue clarification of all circumstances of the incident. Thus, the issue has been resolved,” commented the Kyrgyz Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Suspicion fell on Vovan and Lexus – Vladimir Kuznetsov and Aleksei Stolyarov respectively – almost immediately. But they have not confirmed the suggestion until today.
They uploaded the record on November 17 but did not specify how they had managed to contact the Poroshenko's Office and convince them that they were talking to Atambayev.
Kuznetsov and Stolyarov are quite well-known in Russia for pranking politicians and representatives of the world of show business. Both are members of the TV program “Zvonok” aired by the Russian NTV channel.
