Mongolia observing 25th anniversary of Constitution's adoption in January

AKIPRESS.COM - Mongol constitution The 25th anniversary of the adoption of the Mongolian Constitution will be observed on 13 January, 2017, according to News.mn.

The first convocation of the National Great Khural (Parliament), which adopted the Constitution, lasted 63 days.

To mark the anniversary, several events will be organized: interviews with MPs, a photo exhibition and a conference. The annual national wrestling competition will be held on 13 January 2017 in Ulaanbaatar too.

The first Constitution of the Mongolian People's Republic was approved by the First People’s Great Khural on November 26, 1924. Two more constitutional referenda were held in the country in 1940 and 1960. With the 1992 Constitution, Mongolia began political reforms and transition to a democratic society.
