Extreme weather forces Mongolia to halt coal transport to China

AKIPRESS.COM - coal for Bishkek Some districts of Khovd province in western Mongolia are covered by up to 35 cm of snow caused by unstable weather in the region. As a result, coal transport to China has been suspended, according to News.mn.

Thus, the road running through the Barlag Pass from Mongolia to China had been interrupted.

Eleven workers have brought special equipment to the area to clean off the road.

Meanwhile, a dzud alert has been announced in 18 districts of 8 provinces of the Asian country. The temperatures have fallen as low as -47°C recent days in some areas.
