Erdogan postpones trip to Kazakhstan over Istanbul terrorist attack

AKIPRESS.COM - Turkey’s President Recep Payyip Erdogan has postponed trip to Kazakhstan Sunday after twin blasts in Istanbul, official news agency said.

Erdogan had been scheduled to travel to the Central Asian republic for talks with counterpart Nursultan Nazarbayev but the visit was postponed to another date, Anadolu reported.

Two bombs killed 38 people and wounded 155.

The blasts on Saturday night - a car bomb outside the Vodafone Arena, home to Istanbul's Besiktas soccer team, followed by a suicide bomb attack in an adjacent park less than a minute later - shook a nation still trying to recover from a series of deadly bombings this year in cities including Istanbul and the capital Ankara.
