Infamous singer from Osh faces up to 7 years in prison for kicking police officer in the face

AKIPRESS.COM - 1359256.1.1485151835 Osh city police department said it concluded inquiry into the criminal case of Osh singer Altynai Jainakova, infamous for a scandal video showing her kicking a police officer in the face wearing high heels while also being drunk, according to police.

Jainakova was probed for "hooliganism committed with resistance to a representative of authority or of the public carrying out their duties with regard to the maintenance of public order" (Art. 234, Part 3 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic).

20-year-old singer was detained by Osh patrol police on January 13 at 2:10 am. When ordered to stop, the driver attempted to flee and was only stopped after car chase. According to patrol police, Jainakova then resisted officer to show her documents and started swearing at the police. 

"When a police officer tried to get in the car in order to drive the car to the pound, the young woman kicked the officer in the face splitting his eyebrow. Officer received medical treatment," the statement said.

The incident was captured on camera and the tape went viral.

Police launched probes into hooliganism, and the woman was taken into custody for 48 hours.

At sentencing, Jainakova might face from 4 to 7 years in prison if found guilty.
