Over 33,700 ethnic Kazakhs returned to Kazakhstan in 2016

AKIPRESS.COM - ethnic kazakh16,417 families or 33,754 ethnic Kazakhs returned to their historical homeland in 2016 and have received the status of oralman, reports the press service of the Kazakh PM.

65.5% of repatriates arrived from Uzbekistan, 24.9% are from China, 3.2% - from Turkmenistan, 2.7% - from Mongolia, 3.7% - from other countries, according to Ministry Labor and Social Protection of Kazakhstan.

Thus, the largest number of repatriates settled in South Kazakhstan region - 33.9%, Almaty region - 25.4%, Mangistau region - 10.6%, Zhambyl region - 5,8% in other regions - 24.3%.

"65.4% of them are of working age, 28.6% - children under 16 years of age, 6% - pensioners. Among ethnic Kazakhs working age 10.8% have higher education, 20.3% - secondary special education, 65% - secondary education, 3.9% have no education," said the Ministry.
