AKIPRESS.COM - California-based Ethical Traveler, a non-profit organization which "empowers travellers to change the world", has named Mongolia in its list of top destinations.

The list is a dynamic project linked to Berkeley-based Earth Island Institute.

Each year, it produces a list of the ten most forward-thinking countries in the developing world. Mongolia was included in the top 10 destinations for first time in 2016.

According to Ethical Traveler, each country is reviewed for its performance in the areas of human rights, social welfare, animal welfare and environmental protection. At the same time, it also needs to have plenty of appeal as a travel destination.
