AKIPRESS.COM - MPs Omurbek Tekebayev, Isa Omurkulov, Rada Tumanbayeva and Chief of Staff of the Parliament Abdymanap Kutushev will take part in the 16th Winter Meeting of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in Vienna, Austria on Feb.23-24, the press service of the Parliament reported.

The opening session is expected to feature speeches by President of the National Council of Austria Doris Bures, OSCE PA President Christine Muttonen (MP, Austria), and OSCE PA Special Representative on Gender Issues Hedy Fry (MP, Canada). In the closing joint session on the afternoon of 24 February, parliamentarians will hear addresses by Chairperson-in-Office of the OSCE and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Austria Sebastian Kurz and OSCE Secretary General Amb. Lamberto Zannier, followed by a question and answer session.

The Winter Meeting will open with a joint session of the three general committees that will discuss political and security issues, economical issues, issues on science, technology and environment, democracy, human rights and humanitarian issues.

At the end of the meeting of the standing committee, Secretary General Roberto Montella will tell about upcoming meetings of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, including fall meeting 2018 in Kyrgyzstan. Members of the OSCE PA International Secretariat will visit Bishkek on March 22-23.
