Life in rural Kyrgyzstan: Two brothers-hunters Mamyrkanovs shoot off wolf pack in Issuk-Kul

AKIPRESS.COM - Hunters from Enilchek village in Issyk-Ku shot off a wolf pack that attacked the village cattle, village resident Ermek Abdyldayev told Turmush.

According to Abdyldayev, wolves were shot on Tash-Koroo pasture. Five horses were killed by wolves in a week.

Brothers Ruslan and Kubanych Mamyrkanovs went for hunting wolves. With the help of locals, they shot four wolves in the evening of Feb.20.

Three wolves escaped, they said.

Enilchek village is located in Ak-Suu district, some 150 km from the resort town Karakol.

About 209 families live in the village, the main activity of the villagers is animal husbandry.

Due to the fact that the village is located in the border zone, there are border guard living in the village.
