Turkmenistan, Qatar sign energy, aviation, metrology, environmental protection cooperation deals

AKIPRESS.COM - Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Emir of the State of Qatar Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani signed a number of cooperation deals on March 15 on the sidelines of the Turkmen – Qatar high-level negotiations held in Doha, reports the press service of the Turkmen leader.

The signed documents include a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Training of Diplomats between the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Institute of Diplomacy of the State of Qatar among the documents.

Memoranda of Understanding on development of cooperation in energy and cooperation in standardization, metrology, certification and accreditation were signed.

The State National Service Turkmenhowayollary and the Department of Civil Aviation of the State of Qatar signed Memorandum of Understanding.

Another signed cooperation document is the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in biodiversity and environmental  protection.

During the high-level talks, the sides discussed strategic and long-term partnership between Turkmenistan and Qatar.

Turkmenistan expressed interest in studying Qatari experience in the development in economy, science and education, energy and sports. Both sides highlighted tremendous opportunities for the expansion of trade and economic cooperation and diversification of trade turnover. The sides agreed that they should be cooperating in the field of fuel and energy.
