World’s most expensive burger sold for $10,000

AKIPRESS.COM - 2637358896 A single burger served up on Tuesday before those attending the ‘Pink Bite’ auction by the Pink Caravan has fetched $10,000, breaking the record for the highest price paid for a burger in the world, reports Gulf News.

The burger was prepared by Pink Caravan ambassador Shaikh Mohammad Bin Abdullah Al Thani, Chairman of the Department of Statistics and Community Development in Sharjah and cofounder of Musafir.com, in support of Pink Caravan’s mission of spreading the message about the importance of early detection to fight breast cancer.

The popular culinary fund-raiser, held at Galleries Lafayette, Le Gourmet, The Dubai Mall, saw seven of Dubai’s top chefs get together with Pink Caravan ambassadors to put together innovative pink-themed creations inspired by Emirati cuisine at their live stations.

During the hourlong auction, all ambassadors tried to sell their dishes at the highest price. Shaikh Al Thani was able to sell four of his signature burgers, one of which was bought by the owner of the luxury lifestyle magazine in the UAE, Villa 88 Magazine, for $10,000.

The Higher Organising Committee of the Pink Caravan announced that the charity auction managed to raise about $30,000.
