AKIPRESS.COM - United World Wrestling said on April 6 that Bazar Bazarguruev of Kyrgyzstan became a bronze winner in men's freestyle 60 kg at the 2008 Summer Olympics Beijing after Ukraine's Vasyl Fedoryshyn failed anti-doping test.
"I think that the award is well deserved," Bazarguruev commented to a journalist from Ulan-Ude.
He said this medal was the result of enormous job he had done together with his team. He thanked his coach and mentor for making it possible.
Bazarguruev was born January 9, 1985, he is a wrestler of Buryat descent from Kyrgyzstan. He participated in men's freestyle 60 kg at 2008 Summer Olympics and was ranked on 4-5 place. He lost the bronze medal fight with Kenichi Yumoto from Japan.
Now Bazarguruev trains children in his native village Chelutay, Agin-Buryat Okrug, Zabaykalsky Krai, Russian SFSR.
He said he is ready to put all of his efforts in development of Buryat free-style wrestling.
