Life in rural Kyrgyzstan: Artist with style

AKIPRESS.COM - Turmush correspondent talked to an artist from Talas with incredible style, whose works sell at up to $5,000.

Mr Askat Beishenbekov, 54, has been creating artworks for 32 years. He graduated the Kyrgyz State Art College named after S.A. Chuikov.

"I had my first exhibition back in 2004," the painter recollects. "I exhibited 35 paintings and 28 of them were sold out. I have buyers from the US, Germany, Russia, UK, Belgium, Moldova and Turkey," he says.

"I prefer depicting the Kyrgyz nature in my oil paintings, I try to show all the beauty of our nature and mountains especially," he said.
