AKIPRESS.COM - The Mongolian Parliamentary Standing Committee on Environment, Food and Agriculture discussed the status of the country's livestock, in particular, the birth of young animals, during a meeting held on April 19, reports news.mn.
According to Minister P.Sergelen, Mongolian livestock increased by 9.9 percent to 61 million head at the end of 2016.
26.1 million heads of livestock bore young last spring, namely: 55.8 thousand camels, 823.4 thousand horses, 1.2 million cows, 10 million sheep and 8.8 million goats. Mongolian livestock is expecting to grow by a total of 20 million young animals in 2017, of which 12.2 million have already been born.
