AKIPRESS.COM - Mongolia is the world's third biggest cashmere producers. Cashmere holds 40 percent in the country's non-mineral exports, reports news.mn.
The price of cashmere rose to MNT 100 thousand per kilogram earlier this spring. However, the price of the warm goat wool has been slowly decreasing on Mongolian markets to MNT 80-95 thousand.
In average, 250 grams of cashmere is combed from one goat. A total of 19.6 million goats are bred in Mongolia.
