Turkmenistan buying new combine harvesters for grain harvest

AKIPRESS.COM - Turkmenistan will buy 150 new combine harvesters in a run-up to grain harvest campaign, the Turkmenistan Today  state news agency said.

In accordance with the Resolution of the head of state, the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Economy of Turkmenistan has made a contract with John Deere International GmbH (Swiss Confederation) for purchases of a large quantity of agri-machinery, outfit, spare parts and consumables.

Supplies of advanced farm machinery (1.350 pieces in total) will be carried out in 3 instalments during 2017-2020.

During the first stage, 150 new John Deere W540 combine harvesters will be supplied by the start of the grain-harvesting campaign. 48 of them, currently being transported by railway from Europe, will arrive in our country within the next few days.

The combine harvester with a 260 hp engine meets European environmental standards. The quality of harvested grain, losses and other important data are displayed on a monitor in the cabin, which is equipped with everything necessary for a combine operator, including improved sound and noise insulation, automatic temperature control.

The new harvesters have been successfully tested and proved to work well in our country’s soil and climatic conditions.

Before the start of the harvest season, another 102 harvesters will be supplied. The next stage envisages supplies of 400 “John Deere 8245R” tractors machinery in June-July for the plowing season. 200 “John Deere 9970” cotton harvesters are expected to be supplied in August-September. The same number of cotton harvesters will arrive in Turkmenistan for a 2018 cotton-harvesting campaign.
