Nazarbayev invites Korea's new president Moon Jae-in to Kazakhstan

AKIPRESS.COM - President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has congratulated Mr Moon Jae-in on the victory in South Korea's presidential election.

In his message, Nazarbayev having reminded that the countries mark the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations said that Astana and Seoul relations have been constantly expanding. 

Nazarbayev said he believes that the sides will be further developing strategic partnership.

Nazarbayev invited Mr Moon to Kazakhstan for bilateral talks.

Mr Moon was sworn in on Wednesday. Final results show that he took 41.1% of the vote, while conservative candidate Hong Joon-pyo took 25.5%. Centrist Ahn Cheol-soo, widely seen as a strong contender, came third with 21.4%.

Moon succeeded Park Geun-hye, who is accused of allowing a close friend to extort money from companies.
