Prime Minister Sooronbai Jeenbekov nominated for president by SDPK party political council
AKIPRESS.COM - The political council of the SDPK party nominated Prime MInister Sooronbai Jeenbekov for president.
His candidacy is yet to be approved by the party at the congress, said SDPK leader Isa Omurkulov.
Nomination was announced on May 17 at the meeting of the political council.
Jeenbekov holds the post of the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan since April, 2016.
In 2007, he became the Minister of Agriculture, Water Resources and Processing Industry.
In 2010, he served as the Governor of the Osh region, and in 2015, he was appointed as Director of the State Personnel Service.
In March 2016, he was appointed as First Deputy Head of the President's Administration before his current appointment as Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan.
