AKIPRESS.COM - President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov will hold talks with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who will be on a working visit in Ashgabat on May 19-20.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov reported on the preparations for the Turkmen-Uzbek top level talks at a joint session of the Cabinet and the State Security Council on May 19, the state news agency reported.
The agenda of the talks, which includes signing of a package of bilateral documents, includes a wide range of issues related to development of the Turkmen-Uzbek partnership.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stressed that the regular nature of the summit meetings demonstrates the mutual commitment to and interest of both countries in expanding effective cooperation, established in the traditions of friendship and good-neighborliness and on an equal, constructive and long-term basis.
The head of state pointed out the existence of a solid potential and prospects for further development of interstate cooperation.
