Mirziyoyev offers to deprive citizenship of those joined to extremism

AKIPRESS.COM - Mirziyoyev1President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed to deprive citizenship of Uzbekistanis, who joined to extremist groups and flows.

“Let's say, if 20-30 people in 5 mahallas lose their ways, then we can guess that 5 out of 20 of them joined to extremist groups. They won't return. They should be deprived of citizenship of Uzbekistan. I am ready to deprive them of their citizenship,” he said during the meeting in the administration of Andijan region on June 3.

Mirziyoyev in his speech called on imams and authorities to make proposals on deprivation of citizenship of Uzbekistan of most active ones [extremists].

The President said the society should work hard to return those “hoodwinked” and joined to various movements, but not the “avid” ones.
