Explosive device thrown into U.S. embassy compound in Kiev: police

AKIPRESS.COM - A device exploded in the U.S. embassy compound in Ukraine's capital Kiev in the early hours of Thursday, injuring no one, police said.

An attacker threw the device over the embassy's fence just after midnight, police added, calling it a terrorist act.

The police press service said the blast on the territory of the embassy, located in central Kiev’s Shevchenkovsky district, was reported at 00.05. "Investigators found that an unknown person threw an unidentified explosive device on the territory of the diplomatic mission," police said. Investigators are working on the scene.
