Nazarbayev welcomes President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in Astana

AKIPRESS.COM - Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev greeting President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in Astana thanked him for accepting the invitation to participate in the opening of EXPO-2017 international exhibition in Astana.

"The meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization has reached completion, and it resulted in the admission of two new states to the Organization - India and Pakistan. To date, the SCO is 4 nuclear powers, half of humanity and about 30% of the world economy," the Head of State said.

In turn, the President of Turkmenistan, expressing his gratitude to Nursultan Nazarbayev for the invitation to visit Kazakhstan, noted the high relevance of EXPO-2017 international exhibition.

"We are very happy to participate in such an event, since its theme "Future Energy” is very interesting, and a lot of issues in the context of the exhibition are important for our countries. Among them, in particular, the problems of ecology, the President of Turkmenistan said.

Nursultan Nazarbayev and Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov have also underscored the positive dynamics of development of bilateral relations after the state visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Kazakhstan in April this year.

At the end of the meeting, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov invited the Head of the State to visit the 5th Asian Games in Indoor and Martial Arts, which is to be held in September 2017 in Ashgabat.
