Dead lakes on Kara-Kol pasture, Jalal-Abad

AKIPRESS.COM - There are six dead lakes 20 km away from Kara-Kul town, Jalal-Abad region. They are located on Kara-Kol pasture.

Turmush presents pictures of three of them: Tunduk Kol, Chon Kol, and Kichi Kol.

Other dead lakes include Iri Kol, Tulpar Kol, and Chalchyk Kol.

The resident of Kara-Kul Adyl Chargynov noted that one can reach these lakes on a horse in 5 hours, or by car, which will take only 2 hours.

“You better choose SUV or Niva. There are no fish or other animals in these lakes, that is why they are called dead lakes. From the distance lakes seem black (kara kol – black lake in Kyrgyz),” he said.
