Simplification of customs procedures discussed at OSCE workshop in Kazakhstan

AKIPRESS.COM - An OSCE-supported workshop organized to familiarise participants with international experience on customs control procedures during transit of goods and vehicles, took place on June 26 in Astana, the OSCE reported.

The event was organized by the OSCE Programme Office in Astana in partnership with the Training Centre of the State Revenues Committee.

Experts from Georgia, Latvia and the Russian Federation shared international practices on applying guarantee mechanisms for goods and vehicles in transit with 46 officials from the central and local customs authorities. Participants reviewed existing information technology systems used during customs transit procedures and discussed ways to apply in Kazakhstan the experience of other OSCE participating States.

The workshop is part of the Office’s multi-year efforts to assist the host country in promoting good governance by facilitating international transit and commerce.
