Life in rural Kyrgyzstan: Ormon Khan's descendants from Kochkor district searching for his tomb

AKIPRESS.COM - Ormon Khan's descendants from Kochkor district of Naryn region are searching for Ormon Khan's tomb, local resident Chertki Ottuktashov told Turmush correspondent.

According to him, descendants of Ormon Khan visited Kyrchyn pasture near Semyonovka village of Issyk-Kul region where they said requiem.

“We have found a place on Kyrchyn pasture where the body of Ormon was carried away by the river. 2 or 3 years ago his descendants have installed a special monument devoted to him with the permission of local government. There are places named “Ormon Dobo” and “Ormon Kyiya” on the eastern side of the pasture. That is why we think that the tomb of Ormon Khan is located on Kyrchyn pasture.,” Ottuktashov said.

Ormon Niyazbek uulu (Ormon Khan) sought to establish separate Kyrgyz state in 19th century. He was political and public figure of that time.
