AKIPRESS.COM - Delegation of Turkmenistan led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs took part in the Turkmen-Emirates political consultations in Abu Dhabi on August 21, the press service of the Turkmen foreign ministry reported.

The consultations were co-chaired by Ahmad Abed Al Rahman Al-Jarman, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The parties discussed implementation of interstate agreements.

The Emirate side reaffirmed its commitment to further expanding its relations with Turkmenistan in a wide range of areas. Also, the role of the intergovernmental Turkmen-Emirate commission was stressed, which by its decisions promotes the development of competitiveness and economic growth in both states. The parties discussed the issues of strengthening trade and economic relations, noting the positive dynamics of the growth of bilateral trade in recent years.

The Turkmen side noted that Turkmenistan keeps eye on the political, trade, economic, cultural and social model of the development of the United Arab Emirates, which has become important regional trade hub, favorite investment destination for regional and international companies as well as a leading centre for renewable energy.

On August 22, the delegation of Turkmenistan also met with the Minister of State of the United Arab Emirates for International Cooperation, the Managing Director of the World EXPO 2020 exhibition, Ms. Rim Ibrahim Al Hashimi.
