AKIPRESS.COM - President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on August 23 received the First Vice Prime Minister of Russia Igor Shuvalov, the President's press service said.

The head of state congratulated Shuvalov on appointment as Chairman of the Russian part of the joint intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation.

The two discussed development of the practical cooperation between the two countries, as well as acceleration of the investment projects and implementation of the promising programs.

Shuvalov thanked the President for warm welcome and conveyed the best wished from the Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.
