AKIPRESS.COM - President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev and his Uzbek counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed an agreement on Kyrgyz-Uzbek state border on September 5 in Bishkek as part of Uzbek leader's state visit.
Atambayev called the signing of the document "historic."
The two presidents also witnessed signing of the following documents:
- Memorandum on cooperation between Parliament of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Oliy Majlis (Parliament) of Uzbekistan;
- Agreement on cooperation and mutual assistance on compliance with tax legislation between the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Government of Uzbekistan;
- Agreement on the activities of border officials between the Governments of two countries;
- Agreement on cooperation in the field of higher education between the Governments of two countries;
- Agreement on scientific and technical cooperation between the Governments of two countries;
- Protocol on the exchange of instruments on the ratification of the Consular Convention between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan;
- Agreement on cooperation in trade and economic and cultural-humanitarian fields between Osh city of the Kyrgyz Republic and Andijan of Uzbekistan;
- Agreement on cooperation between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan
- Memorandum of Understanding between the National Institute for Strategic Studies of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
- Agreement between the Bishkek mayor's office and Tashkent City Hokimiyat;
- Agreement on interregional cooperation between the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
